Photo Description Invictus

In this photo you can see a lot of black kids with the captain of the rugby selection with a rugby ball. In that scene of the movie by order of the president Nelson Mandela, the rugby selection of South Africa went to teach rugby in the poor and black poblation. These black kids did not know anything about this sport because rugby was a white`s sport, that is to say that it was a sport only watched by the white people and the black people that used to the stadium was to support the other team. When the team arrived the black kids only say Hi and hugged Chester, the only black player on South Africa. The black kids had a very poor types of clothes, broken shirts and shorts that were given by the help centers. The place was a field of football in a very bad condition, wit poor grass. The rugby team reached them very well and if you look in their expressions we could see they were happy because learning a new sport

My Collar Bone Fracture

Dear Juan,

Hello, how are you? I am writing this letter to you because I want to tell you the story about how I fractured my collar bone.

Well, this was two years ago in a rugby match against the generation that actually is in second media. We were losing for a lot and in the second half the fly tackled me and I fell down in a very bad way on my shoulder. It hurt me a lot. The nurse took me immediately away from the field to the hospital for kids "Asomel". They explained to me what had happened: I had a collar bone fracture and I was not going to play any sport6 in 2 months. It was October, I was not going to play in the whole year. That made me feel sad because I love doing sports but well, that's the way life is. Well that was my story and now I want you to tell me about you when you receive this letter

Invictus is a great movie released on 2009 starred by Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon and directed by the famous and great director Clint Eastwood. Basically is about the union of two races throughout rugby. "The times changes, we need to change as well" are some of the most shocking phrases of the captain François Pienaar "Matt Damon".

This director based this movie and was inspired by the real case of south Africa that was governed by a cruel and racist dictator that gave all the rights to the white people, that were the minority and removed all the rights to the black people that were the great majority. Obviously, it originated protester groups of black people that wanted to have the same rights than the whites. All that people that were part of these groups were condoned to jail. In these groups the lider was Nelson Mandela, who was condoned for 27 years.

And in this part is when the movie starts. Mandela's conviction was finishes. He postulated to president and won the elections. Both black and white people thought that the black revenge was starting, but no. Mandela wanted the union of these two races. And he knew perfectly how: by the rugby. The rugby was a white's sport. Only the white people would go to the stadium to support "The Wallabies" and the people that would go to the stadium, would go to support the other team. Mandela with a lot of ways, achieved the union of the two race and something else.

If I would have to evaluate in the grading scale of 1 to 11, I would put it 11. This is a movie very recommendable and in my opinion, necessary to watch. I think that because the story of the movie is so good, the actors too, the sound effects too and most important because when you finish watching it your view of the life and of the other people, changes a lot.

Global Warming Essay

In this essay  I will be referring to one of the biggest problems of today: Global Warming. In my opinion, this is the most significant problem of today in the world. This is not affecting us today, but in a couple of years, believe me it will.

In the voice of Deborah White, the polar ice caps of fresh water will melt in the ocean and will be mixed with salt-water and this polar ice caps will lose their fresh water and the responsible of yhis will be the global warming. This is a process that we have to stop now, the clean and fresh water in this moment is a problem because in the moment that we will need that water, we are going to have to suffer the concecuences.

Using the ideas of the Union Of Concerned Scientists, some of the solutions for the Global Warming and their concecuences can be stop using fossil fuel power plants and use renewable energy such as wint energy or hydroelectric energy. "Another way is reducing desforestation and forest degradation and by making our food production practices more sustainable".I believe that if we follow these simple steps we can end with this problem.

I know that you will say that these steps are too expensive and it are changes that are more necessary and cheaper well, I will say to you that it doesn't, exist a change more necessary and cheaper, well I will say to you that it doesn't exist a change more necessary, in my opinion, of course. As I said, Global warming is something that in some years can finish with the humanity. Now, you will say that it exists something more necessary that save your life?

In conclusion, Global Warming is a problem that with their effects: the melting of fresh wates polar ice caps in the ocean of salt water can end withe humanity or at least change it, but is not too late, we can solve it, using renewable energy and stoping the deforestation. The change is in your hands

1) Other Effects Of The Global Warming

 The most pressing problems include:

Rising sea levels, which lead to flooding and displacement and death of possibly millions of people.
·         Per the Inconvenient Truth website, "Global sea levels could rise by more than 20 feet with the loss of shelf ice in Greenland and Antarctica, devastating coastal areas worldwide."
·         Fresh-water polar ice caps melting into salt-water oceans alter the ocean gulf-stream patterns that regulate temperatures. This process leads to major temperature-pattern changes around Earth.
·         The changing landscapes and higher temperatures in polar regions will endanger countless animal and plant species, and irretreivably alter the balance of the ecosystem.
·         Ice caps and glaciers serve as sunlight reflectors, bouncing high-temperature sun rays back into space and away from Earth. When these natural structures have diminished greatly or vanished, Earth will be further warmed as the darker oceans absorb much of the sun ray heat.

2)The Solutions

Boosting energy efficiency: The energy used to power, heat, and cool our homes, businesses, and industries is the single largest contributor to global warming. Energy efficiency technologies allow us to use less energy to get the same—or higher—level of production, service, and comfort. This approach has vast potential to save both energy and money, and can be deployed quickly.
  • Phasing out fossil fuel electricity: Dramatically reducing our use of fossil fuels—especially carbon-intensive coal—is essential to tackle climate change. There are many ways to begin this process. Key action steps include: not building any new coal-burning power plants, initiating a phased shutdown of coal plants starting with the oldest and dirtiest, and capturing and storing carbon emissions from power plants. While it may sound like science fiction, the technology exists to store carbon emissions underground. The technology has not been deployed on a large scale or proven to be safe and permanent, but it has been demonstrated in other contexts such as oil and natural gas recovery. Demonstration projects to test the viability and costs of this technology for power plant emissions are worth pursuing.
  • Managing forests and agriculture: Taken together, tropical deforestation and emissions from agriculture represent nearly 30 percent of the world's heat-trapping emissions. We can fight global warming by reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation and by making our food production practices more sustainable.
  • Developing and deploying new low-carbon and zero-carbon technologies: Research into and development of the next generation of low-carbon technologies will be critical to deep mid-century reductions in global emissions. Current research on battery technology, new materials for solar cells, harnessing energy from novel sources like bacteria and algae, and other innovative areas could provide important breakthroughs.

3)Global Warming Impacts

Global warming is already having significant and costly effects on our climate, our health, and our environment.
Global warming has serious worldwide implications, though the type and magnitude of local effects varies considerably by region. This page highlights the consequences of global warming on a broad level.
Unless we take immediate action to reduce global warming emissions, these impacts will continue to intensify, grow ever more costly and damaging, and increasingly affect the entire planet — including you, your community, and your family.

Accelerating Sea Level Rise and Increased Coastal Flooding

Average global sea level has increased eight inches since 1880, but is rising much faster on the U.S. East Coast and Gulf of Mexico. Global warming is nowaccelerating the rate of sea level rise, increasing flooding risks to low-lying communities and high-risk coastal properties whose development has been encouraged by today's flood insurance system.

Dear Mr. Gómez,

I am writing this letter in protest to the new mobile phone antenna of the company "Entel". I understand that they really need the antenna because of the costumers that live in Con Con need a better signal, but it can't be here, it can't be in my dear neighborhood. You really don't know how that antenna will  affect me, my flat and all my neighborhood.

First of all, that antenna will be do a lot of noise at the 24 hours f the day because of the important works that they will do and it will do interference with the signal of my flat, because we are costumers of "Movistar", not "Entel" .I can live with this, but with the thing that my family can't live is knowing the problems in the nervous system that can cause this antenna and the mortal diesase that this antenna can cause: Cancer.

I can't live relaxed knowing that we can get that terrible disease because of an antenna.  It have been more than 5000 cases of people that have cancer because of that antenna and I don't want that for me and my family. They can't do that to us! You must make a law against put antennas in populated places

You are the only one that can save my flat and my neighborhood, you will disregard this letter and let that antenna destroy it?

I look  forward to your response

Your sincerely.

Bravehearth review

Bravehearth, The Great Story of William Wallace

The great movie of braveheart, it's a historical drama war film, directed and starring by the spectacular actor Mel Gibson and filmed in 1995.

This movie is about a 13th century scottish warrior, which name is William Wallace (Mel Gibson), who fought until the end to get the scottish independence and led the scots to the First War Scottish independence against the english, who were commanded by the King Edward I of England. This movie was based on the great poem of Blind Harry "The Actes and Deidis of the Illustre and Vallyeant Campioun Schir William Wallace"

Wallace saw his father's death and his brother's death, killed by the english, when he was a kid. After that his uncle Argyle, who took care of him and taught to read and write, took him out of Scotland. Years after, he came back to Scotland because he wanted to live in peace and in the place were he was born. Whe he came back, he married Murron in a secret way. When Murron was walking normaly a English soldier tried to rape her, but Wallace defended her and tried to escape from there with she. He scaped but she was not the same lucky. The English soldiers trapped her and she was sentenced to death. When he knew about that, all of his peaceful moments ended. He had a very clear target: Avenge his dead wife and get the Scottish independence. He was the boss of the Scottish revolution. This revolution took a lot of years and it had a lot of scottish victories and many Scottish joined to him, such as his friend Hamish Campbell and the crazy Stephen. Wallace was the fear of the english. He found and an unexpected ally, the princess Isabel, who was sent by the King Edward to negotiate with him, but she allied to him and became his new mistress. The king Edward sent all his army against Wallace, who heard this because of his mistress, Isabel. The irish joined him and fought against the big english army. The english army won and Wallace escaped after they trapped him and realize that Robert Bruce, who was supposed helping him, betrayed him  Wallace was a strong man, but without the noble support he couldn't do nothing, so he went to Edinburgh to talk with the english and the english trapped him. He had to say some words to be free, but he wanted to die saying, FREEDOM!

The Millionaire Wallet

The other day I was walking in Reñaca to the dentist. In that moment the dentist was going to put me brackets. When I was arriving the dentist, I saw a wallet behind a dustbin. Immediately, I took up the wallet and I opened to see what it had inside of it. The wallet had one million of Chilean pesos! I do not remember a moment where I was happier than that great moment. In that moment, I came back to my house, I did not care about the dentist, I had one million of C pesos! When I arrived my house, the first thing that I did was telling my mom the crazy thing that happened. She was so impressed like me. She said me that I could do the thing that I wanted with that money. I passed all the afternoon thinking about what I would do with that money. In that moment, I turn on the TV and I saw in the news a history about a woman that lost her wallet that had  one million of chilean pesos. That event happened in the same place that I founded the money! In that moment, I knew what I had to do, I went to Carabineros and I tell them the history. One hour after, the owner of the wallet came and she thanked me. Independent of what I lost, I knew that I did the correct thing.
